Occasionally you might want to tweak one or two images according to your preferences after AI enhancement. This guide shows you how to use Finetune controls to tweak an image and apply it to multiple images if needed.
Where Finetuning fits in the workflow
When to use it: After the AI enhancement, if you’re seeing room for improvement or want a more signature look.
What it changes: Visual sliders applied on top of the AI edit (non-destructive) which can be previewed instantly.
How it saves time: Dial in once and apply to other images or the entire order.
Rule of thumb: Change global AI settings first (AI version, Enhancement style, Sky replacement, Window pull). Only then do Finetune for creative polish.
The Finetune panel
Open an image → click Finetune in the sidebar.
You’ll see sliders for Exposure, Contrast, Temperature, Tint, Vibrance and Sharpness.
Tip: double click a slider to reset the values
Brightness
What: Overall exposure.
Use when: The whole image still reads a touch dark/bright.
Guideline: Prevent highlights clipping or shadows crushing.
Contrast
What: Separation between lights and darks.
Use when: The image feels flat.
Guideline: Big moves can crush shadow detail or blow whites.
Temperature
What: Blue ↔ Yellow (white balance warmth).
Use when: Tungsten/mixed light made whites too orange or too cold.
Guideline: Nudge until whites look white and color tones look realistic. Try combining Temperature with Tint to get the best overall results.
Tint
What: Green ↔ Magenta.
Use when: Green/magenta cast after adjusting Temperature.
Guideline: Work in small steps. Use a neutral surface (like the ceiling) to judge.
Vibrance
What: Boosts muted colors more than saturated ones. This makes Vibrance safer than saturation.
Use when: Images feel dull or need a subtle lift/pop without overly saturating.
Guideline: Prevent colors becoming unrealistic.
Sharpness
What: Edge clarity.
Use when: Images look a bit soft or unsharp. Mind that the preview of the enhancement is lower resolution than the full download, so assess the full download first.
Guideline: Adjust to preference.
Tip: Toggle with the \ key to compare the Finetuned image with the Enhanced image
Batch finetuning
You can copy and paste your finetune settings to other images or the entire order.
After making your changes, click Copy settings
Select the images you want to finetune or toggle Select all
Click Paste settings to apply the finetune settings to the selected batch.
FAQs about finetuning
Why do my finetune settings look different on other images?
Mind that finetuning applies general tweaks to the image. For example if you increase exposure, it will look better on an image that was already quite dark, while it would make an image that was already bright look even more over-exposed.
This is inherently different from the AI which does assess each image individually to enhance it as good as possible. Therefore we recommend to only use Finetune to make smaller tweaks if needed.
Why does my image still not look good after finetuning?
If you're unhappy with the results of the AI and are also not able to improve it with finetuning, please send us a message or rate the image, so we can take a look and improve Autoenhance.ai for you.
